Frugal Teens: Frugal Cake Pops

Junior Hannah Avila and senior Meredith Monke have a featured blog on The Feather called “Frugal Teens,” where they find ways for teenagers to save money. Their blog is published every other Friday, alternating between written and video posts. During the first semester of the school year, they focused on general ways to save money while shopping by visiting thrift stores and yard sales and experimenting with coupons.

For this semester of the school year, Avila and Monke plan to focus more on saving money on specific items and baked goods. Because they both enjoy baking, they started off the semester with a video on cake pops. They believe cake pops have become a popular dessert in the past few years and thought it would be helpful to introduce an inexpensive way to obtain these treats.

In this video, Avila and Monke show you how to frugally make delicious cake pops rather then buying them for $1.50 at stores.

For more information on this process of making the cake pops, visit their. Jan. 11 article, Frugal Cake Pops or their Jan. 25 article, Frugal Cake Pops (VLOG) on The Feather Online’s Blogosphere. The Blogoshere can be found on the right menu bar of The Feather.
