YOSEMITE DEFEATS FC, 213-228

The Eagles hosted the Yosemite High School Badgers in their second match of the season, March 5.

The Eagles took this match as an opportunity to prepare for their inevitable meeting with the Division II leader at the Area Championships, May 6.

Coach Jeff Hopper felt that the match was a good learning experience, the contest being an exhibition match, and that the Eagles have nowhere to go but up.

“Davis? steady play led the way again, and he and Daniel played very well in matching up against Yosemite?s top two, who are both seniors,” said Hopper. “With Chris coming in at 43 as well in the third spot, we looked very strong through the first three. Unfortunately, Alec and Christian struggled and we lost ground on the lower half.”

“Yosemite proved again to be a friendly rivalry, and they should be a team with a very good chance to win the North Area (and maybe the Section) for Division 2 later this year. I?d like to see us keep improving, though, especially avoiding the big score holes, and see how far we can go in trying to catch them. We?ll get a second look at them at their place in April.

The Eagles will next play Reedley High School, March 8.
