Each sport season, the FC Athletic Department takes a special evening to honor those who partake in the season’s sports. The winter sports teams, basketball and soccer, will be honored with awards and honors, starting at 7 p.m. in the Student Ministries center, Feb. 25.
All coaches are invited to the event to speak on the team’s behalf and present and honor the players with awards for their season. Parents are encouraged to attend to witness their sons’ and daughters’ team come together for the last time of the season.
Athletic Director Mick Fuller is very excited to host the banquet and is looking forward to honoring the students for all their hard work.
“This is a main event for our student athletes to be honored,” Fuller said. “These athletes dedicated their time to represent the school and their sport and they deserved to be honored. It is important for families and students to come and represent the kids and the school.”
Sophomore Cole Nale is excited for what the evening will hold and is anxious to know if he will receive any awards.
“I think it’ll be fun,” Nale said. “It will be a fun time to hang with everyone and it will be exciting to see who will win awards. I am hoping that I might, but I really don’t know.”
Senior soccer player Jessica Healy is looking forward to seeing her coaches and teammates for one last time before they all split ways.
“I’m probably looking forward to hearing my coaches talk about the season,” Healy said. “I am also excited to seeing the rest of my teammates again and eating yummy desserts!”
