Track sports short: Clovis East Carnival

This weekend FC traveled to Clovis East to compete in the “Clovis East Carnival“, March 8. There were eight schools at the meet including FC, lasting from 1 to 5:30 p.m.

Tyler Laird, ’14, finished second in the varsity 1600 meter race, with a time of 4:54.38, the winning time was 4:40.42 and in the 800 he finished sixth with a time of 2:02.12, the winning time was 2:15.59.

Freshman Britney Bender, finished third in the varsity 200 meter sprint; she got 29.22, the winning time was 27.86. In the 100 she finished fifth, her time was 14.28, the winning time was 13.39.

Emmaline Krohn, ’16, ran the girls 100 meter sprint coming in thirteenth. Her time was 14.76, the winning time was 13.39.

Ashley Erickson, ’13, ran the varsity girls 100 meter sprint and finished 15th. Her time was 15.04, and the winning time was 13.39.

Caleb Goodale, ’16, finished second in the underclassmen 400 meter sprint. His time was 58.75, the winning time was 57.97. In the 200 he finished fourth with a time of 26.96, the winning time was 25.35.

“It felt great to place,” Goodale said. “All that hard work at practice really paid off, and I am lucky to have such a great coach. Getting a t-shirt at the end was real surprising at first, but I was glad to get that just like a reminder of what I can work for and achieve.”

Jonathan Anguiano, ’16, finished third in the 800 meter race at 2:23.57, the winning time was 2:19.44. In the 400 he placed fourth, his time being 59.73, the winning time was 57.97.

Matt Howard, ’13, finished third in the long jump his distance was 16 feet. 9 inches, the winning distance was 19 feet 6 inches and in the varsity boys 100 meter sprint he finished 12th with a time of 13.33, the winning time was 12.04.

In the boys varsity 4×100 meter relay consisting of JP Caprioglio 13′, Matt Howard, Christian Saylor 14′, and Chris Kollenkark 16′ came in 5th with a time of 49.06, the winning time was 46.08.

The boys varsity 4×400 meter relay consisting of Caleb Goodale, Tyler Laird, Rich Newman 14′, and Jonathan Anguiano came in 4th with a time of 3:55.99, the winning time was 3:42.76.
