EAGLES PULL OFF VICTORY AGAINST RIVAL TIGERS –7-6, March 4

For the third time this season, the Eagles played the Tranquillity Tigers on the road. The Eagles came off to a fast start, but then they let everything fall apart and came to a disappointing loss.

In the first inning the Eagles quickly scored with three runs but the visitors crumbled in the following innings. Senior Nate Bender started out pitching but could not get into the swing of things and allowed the Tigers to take an early lead.

In the fourth inning freshman Tyler Breedlove relieved Bender and was only scored on a few times. Later in the last and fifth inning junior David Ryu replaced Breedlove and finished the inning without another run scored, and in the end, the Eagles lost, 16-5.

Freshman Tyler Breedlove was proud of how he pitched and was looking forward to their later games.

“I pitched pretty well,” Breedlove said. “I have improved immensely over the past few weeks and this was the week where it showed. We just need to work on our defense and we will get some wins.?

The Eagles will next host the Coalinga Horned Toads, March 13.
