As sports fans around the nation fill out their brackets for March Madness Collegiate basketball, Fresno Christian High School has decided to develop its own form of the madness and create their own school brackets.
Events from the school year and other various things related to FC have been ranked 1-16 and put into four different “regions”, just like the NCCA brackets. Students then vote on their favorite things and the results are counted daily. The winners then move onto the next round with a new “match-up” and the students vote again. By the end of the week, all votes will be counted and a winner will be crowned.
Leadership Advisor Robert Foshee, who created the brackets, said it is a fun thing for students and a cool way to add to the March Madness atmosphere.
“With all the march madness giong on,” Foshee said, “We wanted to create our own march madness braket with different events that happen throughout the year. Its not for a reward or anything, but its just a fun thing for the students to do.”
Sophomore Trevor Beal says he really likes the idea, but their are a few things that could be done to make it better. With the new changes, Beal hopes that next year the brackets will have more improvements.
“Its a really cool idea,” Beal said, “But I think it could be a little better though. The teams could be a little more creative, but thats easy to do. I think what would really be cool is the week before, have students fill out their brackets online, then vote the following week. Then, if anyone gets them all right, they get a reward.”
This is the first annual FC March Madness. The school administration would like to continue creating March Madness each year.

Even though I don’t usually like half days, this one was especially fun. Going to lunch with a bunch of the upperclassmen was really fun and made a lot of memories.
