As spring sports conclude for the 2012-’13 season, the annual Spring Sports Awards Dessert Potluck will be held in the Student Ministries Center (Ground Zero main), May 13. Athletes from the softball, baseball, track, golf and tennis will be honored and given awards for their accomplishments for the spring sports season.
All coaches are invited to the event to speak on the team’s behalf and present and honor the players with awards for their season. Parents are also encouraged to attend to witness their sons’ and daughters’ accomplishments for the year.
First year tennis player Jordan Castro, ’15, is looking forward to attending the Sports Banquet and says he feels it is a good time for the athletes to be reward for their hard work.
“Its a fun time where student-athletes can stand out, both individually and as a team, Castro said. “Atheletes can be rewarded for all their hard work and dedication throughout the year.”
Athletic Director Mick Fuller says the banquet is a great opportunity for parents and thletes to come together, and builds on the school’s motto: ‘We Are One: Standing Firm.’
“It’s an opportunity for us to gather and honor the efforts and accomplishments of the athletes and the teams,” Fuller said. “It allows us to share in fellowship and helps build the Fresno Christian community.”
The Potluck began at 7 p.m. and was held in the Student Ministries Center at Peoples Church (former Ground Zero building).

The Grandparents sat there at the beginning of class. Later, their grandchildren took them up front and introduced them in Spanish, adding a little bit more information about them: what they like to do, how they are (physical and personality description), where they live, etc.
The Grandparents were awesome. They even shared about their lives to the class, one sang a song, and others shared about their experiences in learning a foreign language in HS.

I wish my family didnt live so far away so they could join me. However it is still lots of fun being able to meet everyones family and learn about them. I hope next year my Grandma or Grandpa can come.
