CHIEFTAINS DEFEAT EAGLES, SEPT. 10

The Eagles volleyball team traveled to Sierra High to take on the Chieftains in Tollhouse, CA, Sept. 10.

In the first game, the Eagles only put up ten points as the Chieftains outscored the Eagles in the first set of the game, 25-10.

The Chieftains continued their winnings in game two where the Eagles suffered another upset with another loss, 25-8.

In the third game, after an inspirational speech from head coach Jeff MacNeill, the Eagles put up a fight. However, this was to no prevail when the Eagles lost game three, 25-19.

Senior Annaleah Madison felt that the loss could be attributed to the Eagles’ poor communication and lack of overall effort.

“It was bad. It was really bad,” Madison said. “We didn’t play as a team, and we didn’t have fun or anything.”

Madison thinks the energy of her team attributed to her loss. She hopes that the next game the Eagles can pick up their energy and play better overall.

“We need to work a lot more on communication and getting our energy up before the game,” Madison said. “It felt like we were dead, like zombies out there. People were just like ‘You look like you hate life,’ and we’re like ‘Yep.'”
