EAGLES DROP THIRD GAME OF LAST FOUR CONTESTS, Oct. 4

On Oct. 4 the Eagles traveled to face off the Kings Christian Crusaders in Lemoore. Coming off of a win against El Sobrante, the Eagles were looking for a win.

Both teams came off to a slow start, and Kings Christian was the first to score. The Eagles returned the favor, but could not keep up in the long haul, losing 49-24.

Head coach Mick Fuller is looking for improvement with the team and minimizing the amount of mishaps within each play.

“There is always room for improvement,” Fuller said. “The team had moments where they played well and everyone executed their assignments. But there were also situations when we had severe breakdowns in awareness and execution and the result was giving up big plays. We must continue to improve our skills and understanding of the game so we minimize the breakdowns.”

Fuller thinks that the ability to cut out mistakes from their game will be the quality that makes the team great.

“Successful football teams are able to execute their systems with the fewest mistakes while exploiting the mistakes and weaknesses of their opponents. The coaching staff is challenging each member of the team to higher levels of individual and group accountability, not tolerating anything less than maximum effort, focus and intensity.”

Quarterback Tyler Breedlove was disappointed with certain parts of the how he played but he knew he and the team played their best.

“I think i played pretty good,” Breedlove said. I could’ve done better but with a hurt collar bone I played the best I could. The team never quit, we played fair and with class against a team with unorthodox playing methods.”

The Eagles will next play the Maricopa Indians at home on Oct. 11.
