For a preview to the Eagles volleyball season and a look at their scores so far, check out the Fall sport box scores, 2013, for dates, times and all fall sports.

Also, please be sure to check out the Eagle’s schedule for the upcoming season on Max Preps. FC is currently 11-11 overall and 4-5 in the West Sequoia League as of Nov. 6. FC’s next game will be at home on Nov. 7, as the Eagles play the Riverdale Cowboys.

EAGLES WIN WSL GAME AT HOME, NOV. 5

The Eagles took on the Parlier Panthers, Nov. 5. Both teams participate in WSL play and were looking for a win to improve their league standings. Though the Panthers were winless going into the game, both teams were ready to give their whole effort.

In the first set, it was clear that FC had the advantage in terms of both skill and size, and won 25-11.

Even in the first set, both teams were subbing in younger players, shuffling the lineups. The Eagles continued to dominate the pace of the game, winning the second set.

In the third set, FC finished off the Panthers and took their fourth league victory of the year.

Freshman Hannah Nale thinks that the team blew off a bit of steam in the game.

“The game was simple,” Nale said. “It was actually a little boring, but that’s fine I guess. I don’t know if all of us really tried as hard as we could have, just because we knew what we were up against. Like I personally only touched the ball once.”

Though the game was won easily by the Eagles, they never stop working on aspects of the game in practice.

“We’re working on free balls,” said Nale. “Just getting them to turn into kills and hits.”

It was so cold that day at lunch. Vanessa and I were trying to keep our minds off the weather by talking, singing, and playing music off of our phones.
