MADISON CELEBRATES SENIOR NIGHT WITH HONORS, WIN, NOV. 7

The Eagles hosted their final league matchup of the season, Nov. 7. The Riverdale Cowboys were in town to take on FC, who stood at 4-5 in WSL play, while the Cowboys were at 2-7.

These two teams had met not once, but twice earlier in the season, with FC taking both games – one was in Riverdale, one was at a neutral court. A loss here would end the Eagles season, while a win would send them to playoffs. As previously mentioned, the game was the final league game of the season at home, so as per tradition, FC honored the lone senior on the squad – Annaleah Madison – before the game.

The Eagles came out strong in the first set, holding the Cowboys to only 7 points. It was clear that FC was ready to defend their home court.

In the second set, the Eagles relaxed a bit, allowing 15 points from Riverdale on their way to a win.

In the third and final set of the game, the Cowboys made a comeback, evening the score at 11 before the Eagles pulled away, the score at the end of the set was 25-18.

The Eagles will next play against a team to be decided via elimination, Nov. 14.
