School spirit is an aspect that lacks in a majority of high schools and sadly is seen lacking in FC too. There seems to be a shortage of extreme excitement and cheer from the school when it comes to getting ready for school events, primarily sports. School spirit is a choice that has to commense inside an individual that must become contagious in order for others to take hold of the enthusiastic outlook.
The level of spirit one holds is an equation that people have to be willing to partake in. Willingness plus participation plus the right mind set equals school spirit. The livliness that comes with school spirit takes an indiviudal who is willing to put out more than just what is in his or her comfort zone. This entails not being afraid of what other students think when excitment is being shown.
School spirit begins inside a person but can also be transferred to the exterior as well. Save a few dollars and buy school apparel or maybe gather with friends and make fun shirts that support whatever school event the group will attend. There are countless ways to not only have spirit but to show school spirit as well.
The Feather staff would like to encourage the student body to participate more in upcoming events and to support their fellow classmates in the sports they play and activities they partake in.
This semester at FC, there are countless upcoming events that the student body can be looking forawrd too. Night of the Stars (NOTS) is FC?s only formal. The theme this year is Winter Wonderland and the school can all get involved if the students decide to participate in the formal ocassion.
Soccer and basketball are starting up this semester as well. Fans are needed to encourage the teams to play harder and to give them a boost of encouragemnt and sense of purpose to impress their fellow classmates. Some of the best sport games that have been played are when the crowd gets so involved in the game that they start cheering, yelling, standing on their feet and chanting cheers so loudly that an individual cannot hear their own thoughts.
School pride is a huge aspect for school spirit. If one does not take pride in something they do or are involved in then it is obvious that they will not be very enthuastic in supporting that particular event. Students have to be prideful in whatever proceedings they are in so their spirit level can increase.
One does not have to just have school spirit, they can be enthuastic in many other things. Maybe its being spirited in the sport they play in or the concert they are going to attend. School spirit is an atmosphere that gives students the opportunity to partake in.
There are different ways that schools try to help students get in the mindset of having spirit, specifically rallies. Rallies are a great way to get students into a ready mood of cheering for the sports teams that have an upcoming game. The Feather staff would like to encourage students to stop thinking of the rallies as lame and to start getting involved.
Having an energetic outlook on supporting different sports teams and events can start a fire in peers to be enthusiastic as well. It is a choice to participate, a choice to support the school and most of all a choice to have school spirit.
