Superintendent Debbie Siebert will hold the annual State of the School address for her last time, to inform the school community on the current condition of the campus 7 p.m. in the G.L. Johnson Chapel, Jan. 27.
This opportunity rises once a year to hear first hand information about our school programs, school ministry, the school financial picture and current updates on our plans for the future.
Siebert explains what the event will provide for the attendees. Not only will Siebert describe the schools current condition but she will also touch on the subject of what is to come for FC.
“The State of the School address is the annual report of how the school is preforming in regards to arts, athletics, academics, faith, ministry and business,” Siebert said. “In addition to covering those things I will also share plans for the future regarding technology in the classroom.”
FC is in the process of transition of many things; updating the older technology as well as keeping the campus clean and up to date.
“Parents should come out to stay informed about what the campus is undergoing,” Siebert said. “It is important to be notified and aware of what goes on behind the scenes.”
There will also be student speakers from Student Leadership at the event. It is to give more information from a students perspective.
“Student leadership will help present information about arts, athletics, academics and faith,” Siebert said. “I will present ministry and business side of things.”
Siebert encourages people to attend the meeting so they are able to stay informed about the condition of the FC campus and community.
“I believe it is important to give people who care about our school the opportunity to receive current information,” Siebert said. “It’s great to show the school community how the school is doing as an academic institution, as a ministry in our community and as a business.”
Siebert enjoys putting on the meeting because it opens lines of communication and gives parents a way to stay involved.
“I appreciate the privilege to share with everyone the information they need as we work together to fulfill the mission of our school.” Siebert said.
Senior Jared Franz does not plan on attending the event because he feels he will not greatly benefit from it. Although, he does encourage parents to go so they can learn how the school is doing, for their children.
“I’m not planning on going myself,” Franz said. “I have a pretty good handle on what’s going on in the school so I think I’m fine without going. But, I think it’s a good idea for parents to go so they know what’s going on in the school their kids attend.”
