EAGLES WIN HOME CONTEST; 72-65, Feb. 4
The Fowler Redcats travelled to FC to take on the Eagles in a league game, Feb. 4. The Eagles stood in second place in the WSL at the beginning of the day, behind only Caruthers, and were looking to get another victory.
The Eagles came out strong, but the Redcats refused to be put away, keeping the score close throughout the game.
However, the Eagles were able to stretch out the home win at a score of 72-65. Senior Brian Scott led the way for the Eagles, along with Caleb Nale, ’14.
Sophomore Justin Houts thought the team played well and looks forward to finishing the season strong.
“It was a solid team win,” said Houts. “We are still struggling with the concept of just going out there and playing basketball the way we know we can, but improvements are being made in terms of effort and heart. We’re playing like we want it, which is a very important thing considering the enormity of league play.”
The Eagles next play at Minarets, Feb. 7.
