Lottery haunts viewer

Dear Editor,

I feel that Alejandra Ramirez, staff writer, wrote a thorough explanation of the play, “”The Lottery”” in her December online article “”Traditions turn superstition in The Lottery.””

I appreciated her interview with Kaley Hearnsberger, ’06, and how she explained the meaning of the play. The description of the town villagers who turned a tradition into superstition was haunting.

The background work that went in to performing “”The Lottery”” showed in the performance. I agree with Mr. [Tom] McEntee, the drama teacher, that Doug DenHartog and Chris White preformed well.

Doug played Bill Hutchinson and worked hard to express a rounded character. Chris White also developed Delacroix’s personality through his accent in the performance.

Good work to all the staff!
