While football season has not officially started, the Eagle football team has begun to play in scrimmages against other central Valley teams. On Aug. 29, the JV and Varsity teams played in the Mendota scrimmage at Mendota High school.
After each won game, new varsity coach, Bonner Cunnings, right, taught the players a victory song which he adapted for the Eagles. The chant was originally created as a fight song for the Gaels at St. Mary’s college.
Instead of practicing on Sept. 4, both the varsity and JV teams traveled by bus to Children’s Hospital of Central California to spend time with the kids there.
