The Feather staff of 2007-08 doubled its ranks from the previous year. For the first time in campus history, The Feather boasted over 30 members.

The staff met for their annual photo at the newest Starbucks in River Park in October.

With the combined effort of the staff writers and eight editors, The Feather went on to win an Online Pacemaker from the National Scholastic Press Association.

The print edition met with similar success as the Sweepstakes winner of the San Joaquin Valley Scholastic Press Association (SJVSPA). The SJVSPA conference also awarded 11 individual journalists who participated in the mail-in article and writing competitions.

Journalism critique organizations offered their compliments and criticisms of the hardcopy and also presented plaques for it after most of the The Feather’s editors retired.

Now with over 40 members, The Feather staff of 2008-09 aims to learn from their predecessors’ mistakes and repeat their success.
