While students were able to help the community during the all school service day, upperclassmen Tyler Duerr, left, and Andrew Rurik, ’09, not pictured, put together a free concert in order to benefit struggling families.
Duerr and youth pastor, Ryan Townsend, lead their church band in a night of massive worship at the We Are One canned food drive, Dec. 5. The event was held at Northpark Community Church, where 175 students came together from different churches and schools from around the county to fellowship together.
Along with worship, the additional purpose of the night was to contribute towards the extremely low supply of food at the Community Food Bank. By the end of the night, three large bins were overflowing with canned goods, and over $3,300 was donated.
