After the relatively somber songs “Oh Come, Oh Come, Emmanuel” and “Bring a Torch, Jeanette, Isabella,” the concert choir lightened up the atmosphere at the Dec. 15 Christmas concert with a rousing jazz rendition of “Jingle Bells.”
Due to a lack of auditions for the soprano solo in the middle of the piece, director Aaron Bryan took it upon himself to complete the song. After introducing the piece as one with a “handsome young man on the solo,” he cued the choir as usual.
After conducting peaceably for the first few minutes, Bryan pulled a red monk-like hood around his head and turned to the audition to perform in his signature falsetto, to the delight of the students singing behind him.
