In a ceremonial ritual in honor of the end of the semester, junior Tyler Duerr, right, and senior Andrew Rurik, center, face off in the annual Guitar Hero showdown.

At the end of the 2008 school year, Duerr brought in Guitar Hero, and a showcase of skills ensued, with Rurik beating Duerr on one song and Duerr beating Rurik on the other.

However, a semester later, Duerr’s practicing payed off when he solidly won in a rematch, winning by over 20,000 points in both cases.

In a less intense game, senior Trent Souza, left, and junior Ryan Swain battled for their own pride, but they played on the medium level while Duerr and Rurik duked it out on expert.
