Off the court, junior Paige Armstrong-Maltos, right, can be found laughing and hanging out with her friends like any other high school girl. Once she dresses out for basketball, though, Paige leaves and “The Wall” enters the gym.
In spite of a nagging knee injury, which has plagued her since junior high, Maltos continues to return to the game with more fervor than ever. Using her great height of 6’4″, Maltos has created a reputation as a beast in the West Sequoia League.
“Playing with my team and being much taller than them is pretty fun,” Maltos said. “Even more so with Katie [White, ’09, center right] because of the height difference. We always tease each other. I like to rebound, but those little ones are sneaky!”
Although Maltos been hindered by injuries, she has helped FC to a 13-5 overall record and a 2-0 record in league play as of Jan. 27. The Eagles will next play at Fowler, Jan. 30, 6 p.m.
