While many drivers smiled and stopped to purchase Kids Day papers from campus volunteers on Cedar and Alluvial avenues, others avoided eye contact with the students.
As sophomore Kory Thompson tried to make a sale, a man in a Buick sped off, exceeding the legal speed limit. Suddenly the screeches and flashing of a police siren cut into the morning and the man received a ticket, March 3.
