While selling cookies at the 32nd back to school night, Aug. 31, the cheer team offered cookies to parents for a small donation. In the spirit of competition between the junior high and split-in-half varsity teams, the high school girls decided to secure their victory as the top earners.
After luring the 7th and 8th graders downstairs for a “photo op,” seniors Leah Christopher and Holly Savage, second and third from the left, snuck upstairs to pilfer the unattended donations.
The triumphing girls cackled to themselves as they relished the acquisition of the winning cash. To their disappointment, the money was returned to the junior high girls after a conference with coach Robin Whitford. However, the upper-graders still ended up victorious, garnering $275 for the team.
