At the highest point on the Matterhorn, senior Alyssa “Shorty” Powell takes her place as Tinkerbell on the seniors’ Fantasyland-themed float at homecoming, Oct. 16.

Powell’s nickname-inspiring stature made her a perfect candidate for the character, who perched at the top of the chicken-wire-and-paper constructed mountain, waving glitter and her wand to the crowd. Powell, just one of many seniors dressed up for the float, helped her class to their first homecoming win.
