In order to support a local hospital, Fresno Mayor Ashley Swearengin visited the corners of Shaw and Blackstone to sell Kids Day papers, March. 9.
In addition to standing in the emptied turn lane, waving papers, Swearengin made friends with Children’s Hospital Central California’s mascot, George the Giraffe. Along with 4,000 other volunteers, Swearengin’s efforts raised over $427,000 for the hospital.
