On April 22-23, the FC concert band travelled to Southern California to visit Azusa Pacific and Biola University. During their two-day stay, the band performed in a festival at Biola, and played with the Azusa band in order to gain instruction and helpful tips.

The first day of the trip included a tour of Azusa’s new art gallery where the band was able to observe pieces created by campus students and teachers. The gallery consisted of paintings, drawings, sculptures and photography.

“One of the coolest pieces of art in the gallery was the giant word-search,” web-master David Casuga said. “I did not completely understand it at first, but a friend pointed out that there were several negative words hidden, but the word “beautiful” was the only one circled. I just thought it was really cool.”

The concert band will be traveling out of town once again with the choir for a performance in Palo Alto, CA. During their stay, they will see the San Francisco Symphony in concert and visit Great America.
