Every year, the school board plans for a guest speaker to appear at graduation to give a congratulating speech. This year, Chief Jerry Dyer, left, made a special appearance to encourage the graduating class of 2010 to live their lives according to God’s will, May 28.
Before he entered the main points of his speech, pastor G.L. Johnson arrived at the ceremony a half hour late and sat in his designated chair on stage. Dyer used this as a perfect opportunity to start his speech with an icebreaker:
“You know, G.L. is a lot like Jesus. You know he is coming, but you don’t know when.”
