Attitude, perserverance inspires

Dear editor,

I am in full support of senior Greg Tharpe and his efforts to become a famous actor. After reading the article, “”Actor relishes time in the spotlight”” by Phillip Ocheltree, it made me realize how much Greg has accomplished.

I was pleasantly surprised to realize that Tharpe has a serious chance of making it to the big time. With his numerous auditions and upcoming lead role in “”The Greens of the San Joaquin,”” Tharpe is something of a local celebrity.

His perseverance in pursuing an acting career has paid off and that’s something to admire. Most often high school students give up when a challenge arises, but Tharpe has kept going.

While some people may mock him about his so-called “”pipe dreams,”” he still devotes all his spare time to acting. However, his school schedule combined with his job leaves him little time to give towards his passion.

Somehow Tharpe has managed to score big and prove many of his skeptics wrong. If more people adopted an attitude like his, more might be able to reach attainable goals.
