As the class of 2019 looks forward to graduation, The Feather spotlights seniors in an effort to know them better. This series will focus on their time at Fresno Christian and their aspirations moving forward. This is the 2019 senior spotlight of Angelica Escalera.
How many years have you attended FC
I have been attending Fresno Christian since third grade.
Where/how many colleges have you applied to for next year?
I applied to one college and it is Cuesta College in San Luis Obispo.
What do you plan on majoring in?
I want to major in business or liberal studies and become a special education teacher.
What is a favorite memory from high school?
I plan to stay in California.
A favorite memory of high school?
My favorite memory of high school was from freshman year at formal when I won an I pad.
Who has been an influential “favorite” teacher in your eyes and how?
My favorite teacher is Mr. (Kyle) Dodson for sure. I learned more from him than almost any teacher. He is the reason why I want to become a teacher.
What activities have you been involved in over the past four years?
Over the past years in high school, I have been involved in multiple sports, Sister to Sister, choir, ensemble and I also have a job at Jabin.
Is there anything you would have done differently?
I wish I started basketball sooner because of how it was to be on the team with the girls. I made so many memories with them.
Post graduation, what do you look forward to in your future?
I look forward to moving away and a having a place of my own.
Where do you see yourself in 10 years?
In ten years I plan have traveled to multiple places, be married and have children along with a solid career.
A fun fact about Escalera is she works with her friend Deborah Ingerson, ’20, as Jabin.
