The campus’s 3rd annual Eagle Fest carnival is just around the corner! Plan to attend this local community and family-friendly festival and fundraising event, Oct. 1 from 3:30-6:30 p.m. It offers a chance to come together, showcasing interactive activities fit for all.
Varying entertainment is included for kids of all ages:
- 5-7-year olds– bounce house, face painting, cake walk, hair parlor, corn hole, & almost all of the inflatable activities.
- 8-10-year olds – face painting, inflatable activities, water blaster & more
- Teens – sumo wrestling & obstacle courses.
- Adults – enjoy the food vendors, buy raffle tickets to win an iPad through the band fundraiser, and enjoy the fall afternoon and evening.
Superintendent Jeremy Brown explains how everyone in the FCS community and beyond are able to participate.
“Eagle Fest is a function of the community,” Superintendent Brown said. “Many times families/students are limited to meeting students/families in their grade levels, activities and other school focused events. When you have a large-scale event, it is a format that allows you to see a broader range of people in our community. This is also an event that extended families (grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins, etc..) can participate in. It is and will always be a great event!”
Planned by the assistant to the superintendent, Christy Rocca, and parent, Dawn Hinton, these ladies are ecstatic about finally having the opportunity to bring the FCS community closer. Unfortunately, due to COVID-19, this event could not take place last year. Please read more information about the 2019 Eagle Fest.
Rocca mentions how although this is a carnival-like atmosphere, parents have the opportunity to take time to themselves and not have to worry about occupying their little ones.
“There will be tables and chairs in the middle of the event,” Rocca said, “so parents can sit back, relax and enjoy the nice evening while watching their kids play. There are so many games scheduled like Sumo wrestling, corn hole, water blaster, cakewalk, and seven large inflatables obstacle courses & activities.”
Unfortunately, unlike past years, band or choice will not perform at Eagle Fest; however, cheer will perform several times. These performances will be brought to attendees by Fresno Christian’s varsity and junior varsity cheer squads, along with elementary cheer clinic participants, rehearsed all week! This will take place at the festival in the late afternoon from 4:30-5 p.m.
“Elementary cheer clinic is so fun!” Chloe Johnson, ‘25, said. “This is my first year being on varsity and I’m super excited to help the littles learn their cheers and dances. I love how we teach them how to shine their lights through Christ. Our performance this Friday is going to be so cute. Go Eagles!”
Over 550 students and parents came to support the First ever Eagle Fest in 2018. Over $2,500 was raised for the boys and girls soccer teams, band, early education and American heritage girls programs.
Dinner and food will be available for purchase through our booths. All funds raised will directly benefit the on-campus club and teams!
“As for food, we will have several delicious options,” Rocca said. “High school soccer will be selling pizza, volleyball will sell tri-tip sandwiches, Club 176 will be selling nachos and it wouldn’t be a carnival if we didn’t have tacos, too!”
The list of booths at the event includes as follows:
- Cheerleading – Kona Ice
- Choir – Cakewalk
- Choir – Crazy hair and colors
- Band – Face painting
- Band – iPad raffle
- Boys & girls soccer program – Pizza
- Boys & girls soccer program – Drinks
- Sweeties truck – cotton candy, popcorn, lemonade
- Pulled Pork sandwich booth
- Nacho booth
- Taco booth
- Game booth
Hinton has helped organize the event in the past and shares her excitement before the Oct. 1 event.
“The crazy hair booth put on by the choir is always a hit since the kids get to walk around with fun colors and wild hair,” Hinton said. “Plus, Mrs. (Susan) Ainley’s cakewalk is always fun since the chances of earning a sweet treat are very good! And you will want to come and see a new game booth by Ms. Kelsey’s first-grade class!”
