As a first-year member in FC worship team, senior Richie Cortez aims to continue his passion for singing, Sept. 13.
Cortez finds joy through worship as he can connect with God through music.
Along with Cortez, there are 15 new members added to this years worship team. Another musical addition to the worship team is the cello played by junior Ellie Scully.
Cortez explains his rookie involvement on the worship team.
“My experience on the worship team has been absolutely amazing,” Cortez said. “It’s something I look forward to everyday when I come to school. Worship to me is the only thing we can give back to God, if you think about it when you pray or pray for someone you’re asking for God’s grace but in worship whatever you do to preside him is giving back to him and it’s something I love to do.”
Cortez is also involved with the worship team at Clovis Hills Community Church for both junior high ministry and high school ministry.

Yes Richie! It’s so inspiring to see you up on the stage singing in worship. I’ve seen how much you have grown in your faith over the past couple of years. Seeing you step out of your comfort zone this year is amazing. You’re such a great role model, and I look up to you so much!
