Get to know No. 1: Nick Funk

From playing on the basketball team to making youtube videos, freshman Nick Funk finds passions to keep him busy, Oct. 19.

This is his first year on the Fresno Christian campus, and he loves supporting his classmates at both the football and volleyball games. His favorite part of FC is worshiping at  chapel on Tuesdays and Thursdays.

Funk enjoys spending most of his free time creating youtube videos. With 152 subscribers he makes content on music and his life experiences. He began youtube two years ago and did not know what the program imovie was, so he created short videos instead.

A moment in Funk’s life that changed his view on God took place when he was two years old. Funk fell into the deep end of the pool and was under water for about five to seven minutes. His dad jumped in and immediately saved Funk with CPR. He survived this traumatic experience and thanks God for his dad being able to save him.

Funk describes what happened along with how God helped him in this experience.

“I was only 2 years when I fell in the deep part of the pool for about 5  to 7 minutes,” Funk said. “I am so lucky that my awesome Dad jumped in and saved me. He immediately gave me CPR. I felt like God gave him the power to save me otherwise I wouldn’t be here.”
