The senior class bundles up for the annual Senior Sunrise, Oct. 31. Thirty-three out of 57 seniors gathered at 6:45 a.m. for another bonding experience as the graduation date gets closer.
Senior advisors Kori Friesen and Robert Foshee plan events such as Senior Retreat and Senior Sunrise to connect the seniors during their last year of high school together. While enjoying breakfast, senior Logan Lewis gave an biblical message about persevering through the rest of the school year and how God is with us in our struggles.
Lewis explains what his favorite thing about Senior Sunrise was and what lead him to give his message.
“My favorite thing about Senior Sunrise was being able to gather as a class, share excellent food, and enjoy fellowship in the great outdoors,” Lewis said. “Two nights ago I felt a prompting from the Lord to share something with my senior class. At first, I had a different message in mind, but the Holy Spirit led me to talk about anxiety and casting your cares upon the Lord.”
The next senior event will be a Christmas sock exchange. Seniors will gather in SMC (Student Ministries Cafe) to trade socks with another student while enjoying lunch as a class. Date to be announced.
