World Kindness Day is annually celebrated on November 13. This day encourages people of all ages to reach out and share acts of kindness to others.
First started in 1998 by an organization called The World Kindness Movement, this group banned together in 1997 at a Tokyo conference for all kindness organizations to create a day focusing on good deeds. Over 28 nations are currently involved in The World Kindness Movement.
Fresno Christian students, Rebekah Micu, ’20, and Samantha Portale, ’21, surprise leadership advisor Robert Foshee with his favorite coffee from Starbucks.
Micu shares her thoughts on the importance on World Kindness Day.
“I think World Kindness Day is an important day to recognize because it is a good reminder to take time out of your day to be kind,” Micu said. “As a follower of Christ it is important to show Gods love to everyone. Whether it is getting a teacher coffee or writing someone an encouraging note, it is important to spread kindness to everyone.”
According to randomactsofkindness.org, kindness starts with one, one smile, one compliment, one cup of coffee, one conversation.
