As fog rolls into the San Joaquin Valley, people commuting to Fresno Christian are advised to delay leave time, Jan. 7.
FCS administration sent an all school email to parents and guardians regarding the fog and adverse weather conditions. The school will excuse tardy passes if students are late due to the fog advisory this week, Jan. 6-10.
As a private school, many students make a commute to school from outside cities.
Senior Ty Coffman commutes to Fresno each day from Firebaugh. Coffman’s drive is about an hour each way. He shares his experience driving to school during the foggy days.
“In the morning, when its foggy, I tend to leave my house later,” Coffman said. “If the fog is super bad, we will always take the biggest vehicle for safety reasons. We also go slower than the speed limit which makes my drive longer.”
When their are fog advisories in the Central Valley, campus administration will contact students’ guardians on what to expect.
