Student leadership begins preparations for the 29th annual NOTS (Night of the Stars) event, Jan. 29. The theme for NOTS 2020 will be the Roaring 20’s.
For the third year in a row, NOTS will begin at 6 p.m. on the garden side at Wolf Lakes, May 1. During NOTS, high school students and faculty will be provided dinner by Wolf Lakes staff while they watch movies each class recreate earlier in the semester. Class movies have not yet been chose but will be discussed in the leadership class mid February.
After the showings of the classes films, the students will be given an opportunity to go on a boat ride, take photos or enjoy each other’s company while the teachers and faculty determine the best aspects of each film.
The awards ceremony will then follow to recognize the category winners. Some awards given consist of ‘Best Actor’, ‘Best Actress’, ‘Best Casting’, and ‘Best Film’. The last event of the night will be a time for students to dance until the NOTS ends at 11 p.m.
To prepare for the event, advisors Aubri Foster and Robert Foshee will be splitting the leadership team into five different groups to organize the evening. The groups consist of food and favors, decorations, advertising, entertainment and financing.
NOTS asking will begin in the middle of March and tickets will be going on sale in the beginning of April.
