The 35th annual FC homecoming week is underway, Sept. 30-Oct. 4. The Feather would like to introduce this year’s senior court nominees with a series of ‘Get to Know You’ questions.
Seniors were paired up to highlight a popular board game, a part of the 2019’s theme. Today’s couple is Shauna Howard and Ty Coffman and the board game they represent is Clue.
This year’s theme, ‘Homecoming Game On’, will be held at 6:30 p.m., Oct. 4. Campus student leadership has chosen to support the Pregnancy Care Center, Fresno, as the local non-profit who will benefit from funds raised during homecoming night.
A little history about the board game CLUE; invented by Anthony Pratt in 1940 while he was confined to his home during the UK air raids of World War II. Mixing experiences of playing murder mystery games, he and his wife Elva created the game. Receiving a patent in 1947 the game was then released in 1948.
The original name was Cluedo a mix of the word clue and Ludo (name for another popular game). Parker Brothers picked up the game rights and shortened the name to just Clue. Bet you didn’t know that the original Colonel Mustard was called Colonel Yellow. 71 years later the game is still a hit.
