Five Fresno Christian seniors head to Grand Canyon University (GCU) for the discovery trip, Nov. 4-6.

During those few days, students tour the campus, attend classes for their majors and watch a men’s soccer game. GCU offers their free discovery trip t0 high school seniors interested in the lifestyle on campus.

GCU, a private Christian college in Phoenix, Arizona, was founded in 1949. The institution was first founded as a Baptist-affiliated college with a focus on religious studies, and it first provided bachelor’s degree programs in education.

GCU welcomes its largest incoming class ever of approximately 9,700 new students for the 2022-23 school year. Over 25,000 students attend on campus.

Senior Kirra Obwald reflects on her GCU discovery trip.

“The GCU discovery trip was a great opportunity to see the campus and get an idea of what living on campus would be like,” Obwald said. “I was able to tour the buildings I would be taking classes in as a Psychology major and see staged living spaces with discovery. Though my favorite part was getting to attend the GCU men’s soccer game the second night.”
