Students dance and wave signs in honor and support of Kids Day.

Each year The Feather staff gathers on street corners early in the morning to raise funds and awareness for Kids Day

The annual Valley Children’s Hospital fundraiser takes place Mar. 7 – be on the lookout for dancing students and community members as you drive to your Tuesday destination!

For 36 years, Children’s Hospital has been able to help thousands of children thanks to the community’s generous donations. Valley Children’s Kids Day ambassador, Connor, was born at 24.5 weeks, weighing one pound, which resulted in bleeding in the brain. With the support of Kid’s Day donations and the lifesaving skills of the doctors, Connor survived and is now thriving at 11 years old.

Valley Children’s Healthcare Foundation President Rob Saroyan expresses his appreciation for Kids Day supporters and donors.

“The community’s incredible engagement leading up to Kids Day this year brings hope to Valley Children’s physicians and staff.” Saroyan said. “On behalf of the patients and families we serve, we are grateful for the generous support that the Valley extends each year on Kids Day to help us care for kids.”

According to the Kids Day Leaderboard, $3,110 have been raised so far out of the $15,000 goal. At the end of the day, when the funds are collected and counted, the top three schools, individuals, groups or businesses that raised the most money will receive a Kids Day award.

For the fourth year in a row, Kids Day continues digital donations. Before inflation, the production of newspapers cost $0.25 a paper but has since increased to over $2. This year, Kids Day will be selling postcards with two QR codes printed on them.
