As Thanksgiving break comes to a close, students arrive back at school, counting down the days before Christmas, Nov. 27. The month of December brings several activities and events to attend in Fresno and Clovis.
School Events:
The Lessons and Carols choir concert consists of nine lessons, seven “specials” and eight carols performed by women’s ensemble and middle and high school choir.

A great way to connect with your community is by donating to the Canned Food Drive. This helps end hunger for those who can’t afford to buy groceries.

Light Walks and Drives:
The longest running holiday event, from Dec. 2 through Dec. 25 will be shining bright once again. Located near Fig Garden Village, this drive extends 2 miles from Shields to Shaw on Van Ness Blvd. with greetings from Santa at the end. This year, it has been announced that walk-only nights will be making a return.
Christmas Tree Lane: Sunday – Thursday, 6 p.m. – 10 p.m., Friday – Saturday, 6 p.m. – 11 p.m.
Walk-Only Nights: Saturday, Dec. 2 and Tuesday, Dec. 12.

Clovis’ Candy Cane Lane brings thousands of people each year. From Dec. 1 to Dec. 25, 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. near the neighborhood of Alluvial and Peach, the lane is welcome to anyone.

Clovis Children’s Electric Parade
When: Dec. 2 at 6:30 p.m.
Where: Old Town Clovis
What: This year, FC band is going to participate in the parade. Celebrating 35 years, it is organized by the Kiwanis Club of Old Town Clovis.
When: Dec. 2
Where: Ballis Glass Gallery
What: This local vendor along with many others will be selling homemade items. Come to enjoy music, live glass blowing demonstrations and food trucks.
When: Dec. 9 at 9 a.m.
Where: Christmas Tree Lane
What: To experience exercising to holiday music down Christmas Tree Lane, register for this 5k run to 2 mile walk. The $40 fee($25 for kids 9 and under) gets you a sweatshirt and jingle bells. To receive a Santa Hat, bring a new, unwrapped to for Toys for Tots.
A Christmas Story, The Musical
When: Nov. 9 – Jan. 7
Where: Roger Rockies’s Dinner Theatre
What: Watch as Ralphie Parker hopes to convince his parents of getting him a Red Ryder Range air rifle.
The 94th Annual Fresno Christmas Parade
When: Dec. 2 from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m.
Where: Downtown Fresno on Fulton Street
What: The Fresno Christmas Parade brings festive floats and performances. At the end, you can get photos with Santa and Mrs. Claus.
