The Feather team takes part in Metalmark’s indoor rock climbing gym.

Rocking climbing enthusiast, Owen Gainer, ’25 brings along Feather editors, Chloe McDonald, ’24 and Meilani Gilmore, ’24 for an exciting adventure. Abundant smiles, calluses, and sweat led to an entertaining experience for all three members.

With so many opportunities to partake in, Owen Gainer led the expedition to brave the climbing walls. In a competition to the top, Meilani and Chloe race to see who could scale a harnessed wall the fastest. Chloe McDonald conquers the feat and quickly moves on to the next challenge.

Bouldering is a well-known technique in the climbing world. The art of bouldering consists of free climbing horizontally along the wall without a harness. Chloe steps up first to take on the obstacle and quickly overcomes it. Without any hesitation, Meilani completes the free climb challenge as well.

As a first-time climber, Chloe McDonald highly recommends Metalmark and promises to come back for another adventure!
