After hearing that Jacob Cantu wouldn’t be returning this year, current students had lots of questions about who would be taking the position of the fan-favorite. Having taught at FC previously, but taking a short break to teach college, Walters has returned. Walters teaches anatomy and physiology, biology, and AP biology.
Growing up in upstate New York, Walters was in love with animals as a child and ended up attending Cornell veterinary school, then moving to California and receiving her doctorate at UC Davis.
Walters has been interested in biology ever since she was a little girl.
“I lived outside, I would go for walks in the forest, go fishing, just be out there. Cause I could,” Walters said, “In upstate New York, you had more of the four seasons. The green grass but then the snow that covered everything.”
She believes God can use anyone at any time, expressing that belief in her own life and experiences with homeless ministry.
“God has called me to do so many things that I never thought I’d be ready for, “ Walters said, But He’s remained faithful through all of it. ”
Walters is glad to be back and can’t wait to make more memories with the students and staff. Listeners can look forward to discovering fascinating new facts and insight into their teachers’ lives through the EagleCast. Be sure to look out for the next episode dropping soon!
