This marks the first year that The Feather has won the award for the digital media edition, though it received three previous Gold Medalist critiques for the print edition.
The CSPA judging committee critiqued the publication in three different areas: essentials, verbal and visual. The Feather received a total of 973 points out of 1000, awarding the staff with all three Columbian Honors, and a Gold Medalist placement, which required a minimum total of 800-1000 points.
The Feather was commended for its easy navigation, diversified coverage, multimedia elements and forum for student opinion. In one of the critique comments on coverage, the judge applauds the staff for using multiple links and pull-out quotes.

FCS NEW SAFETY MEASURES
As we welcome you back for the second semester we want to make you aware of additional safety measures on our campus. Teachers on both campuses will keep their classroom doors locked once class starts. A buzzer system has been installed at the Northeast campus, so that the gate will remain locked during the school day. Visitors will need to ring a buzzer, to be allowed on campus by office personnel.
I’d also like to take this opportunity to remind you that any person not currently employed by Fresno Christian Schools, must check in to a school office before reporting to a classroom or the playgrounds.
Our goal, as always, is to provide the safest environment possible in which to educate your children. We look forward to a great second semester.
-Letter from Todd Bennett
