The 2024 Fresno Christian fall sports seasons, including girls’ volleyball, football, girls’ tennis, and cross country, ended in the championships.
Girl’s volleyball won against Sierra in the league championship. Moving on through the division’s playoff, they defeated Immanuel, 3-0, winning the Valley Championships. From there, the girls won against Rancho Cotate and Summit Shasta in the first two rounds of state playoffs ending their season in a loss against the Hilmar Yellowjackets in the State Semifinals. This is the farthest any Fresno Christian girl’s volleyball team has advanced in all of school history.
Fresno Christian’s football team competes in an independent League this year. For playoffs against the Alpaugh Buffalos football wins, 59-6. Moving on to the semi-finals, the Eagles defeat Laton, 52-8. For the CIF 8-man Central Section Championships, the team made the long trek to Mammoth and lost, 30-56.
The girl’s tennis team went undefeated into the Northwest Sequoia League. At the Northwest Sequoia Tournament, 1st place winners are K’Lanna McArn and Abby Herren against Delaney Meyers and Naomi Eritzian; Georgia Karlson and Lyla Hinton also took home 6th place. After that the tennis team moves through playoffs defeating Kern Valley and Woodlake, the girls won the semi-finals against Nipomo, 5-3. Against Madera High School, the girls won the CIF Central Section Division 5 championships.
The cross country team competed in the Northwest Sequoia League meet. At the CIF Central Section championships, Sophomore Blake Bay and Jeremiah Valorosi advanced to the state meet in division 5 with Bay finding first and Valorosi taking the last qualifying spot in 12th place. On the girl’s side, the whole team made it together snatching second place behind Immanuel and moving on to the CIF State Championships. For the state meet, Bay finished 6th in division 5th overall. He ran the course record for Central Section sophomore boy.
