Junior Matthew Tacchino is back with the Fresno Christian Eaglecast and continues to bring the community meaningful conversations with students and staff members in this recurring podcast series. Join us as we dive into the lives and complexities of the familiar personalities on this campus. For his next student interview, Tacchino has chosen Junior Caleb Tuck.
Junior Caleb Tuck began attending Fresno Christian Schools for freshman year. His family moved from Southern California where his father was a teacher at Masters University while his mom home-schooled the kids. The main reason that the Tuck Family moved back to central California was because Caleb’s father was offered a pastoral position at Redemption Bible Church. When they arrived in Fresno, his mom continued to homeschool the kids but has recently started teaching school online to help support the family. Caleb is also very involved at Redemption Bible Church, serving every weekend and attending many of the retreats and serve days the church hosts. He values giving rather than taking and makes the best of any opportunity that the Lord presents him.
From a very young age, Tuck grew up with many siblings. He was born with two older brothers David and Noah, but now has four younger brothers and one younger sister. If we list the Tuck children in age order, they include: David, Noah, Caleb, Elijah, Aria, Joe, Joshua, and Isaiah. The Tuck family welcomed baby Isaiah in August 2023 and has been managing having a baby, a 5 year-old, and a 10-year old, all under the same roof.
While that may sound like a lot to handle, Caleb has been well equipped to deal with just this sort of thing. Growing up with many siblings, Tuck noticed a difference in the way his younger siblings received consequences compared to him.
“I was definitely spanked and punished way more than my little brother is,” Tuck said. “But I think that’s a good thing, it allowed me to toughen up for him.”
The one person who will always affect Tuck the most is his father. Tuck’s pastor-father has provided a stern, but loving force of guidance and wisdom, which Tuck notes as essential for his spiritual growth. When Tuck was going through a rough patch in his life, dealing with rude and immature friends, he turned to his father for advice.
“My father said the purpose of any relationship was to bring each other closer to God,” Tuck said. “And when you need to cut a friendship off it is because the Lord has something so much better planned for the both of you.”
Tuck also does his best to turn to the Bible whenever he faces trials and tribulations in his life he goes straight to scripture. He quotes 1 Corinthians 2:9: “But as it is written, ‘What no eye has seen, nor ear heard, nor the heart of man imagined, what God has prepared for those who love him.” This verse reminds us of God’s faithfulness and goodness, which all could use.
Caleb’s older brother David Tuck now lives in Santa Clarita where he is in his Junior year at Masters University. Noah Tuck is in his freshman year at Clovis Community. Caleb Tuck hopes to attend Masters University and then Seminary after graduation.
