Fresno Christian boys soccer celebrates their senior night, bringing home the win with a final score of 5-1, against Sierra, Jan. 27. Senior boys include (left to right) Christian Martinez, Braden Belmont, Jacob Christensen, Caleb Eldridge, Matt Tacchino, Owen Gailey and Garrett Alvis. The seniors are gifted baskets and signs made by student leadership and families.
Senior year is emotional for all, more so for Team Captain, Jacob Christensen, a lifetime soccer player. Christensen has played at FC since his freshman year.
“I’ve played for 15 years, so for me, soccer has never not been in my life. It’s something so reliable and stable in my life because every year at the same time, it was always there. Now that it’s almost over, that dependability is ending.”
Senior Christian Martinez highlights the community and team-building skills he has learned from his last two years on this team.
“Being a part of a team plays an important role in working as a cohesive unit, whether this is as a sports team or in my future job. It taught me how to connect with people and develop better relationships.
This game sets the Eagles’ current record at 4 wins, 8 ties, and 3 losses, only needing two more wins to make the playoffs.
