High school history and leadership teacher, Robert Foshee, informs junior high and high school students about Operation Christmas Child Boxes during chapel, Oct. 15.
Operation Christmas Child is an operation run by Samaritan’s Purse, giving shoe boxes filled with gifts for children who are less fortunate during the holiday season. Since 1993, over 168 million shoe boxes have been given to children in more than 100 countries.
OCC was first created in 1990 by Dave Cooke and Gill Cooke. Thousands of churches, schools and groups prepare shoeboxes filled with toys, coloring books, crayons, etc.
This year’s goal is to for FC students is to bring over 700 boxes by Nov. 8.
