Amongst the COVID-19 pandemic, a vast number of states and counties across the world are ordering residents to social distance and isolate themselves to help prevent the spread of the coronavirus, March 27.
According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, older adults or any people at age who have serious underlying medical conditions may be at higher risk for more serious complications from COVID-19.
With Fresno Mayor Lee Brand’s new March 26 directive to shelter-in-place until April 12, many may need financial, services and goods or just a call to help them get through the next two-three weeks.
During this crisis many churches, social media influencers and different communities are eager to offer help to those at risk.
How to help:
- Donate to, volunteer at your local food bank.
- Sign up to help shop or donate groceries with Peoples Church
- Feed America
- Donate and/or volunteer with Meals on Wheels
- Call Every Neighborhood Partnership (ENP) for more opportunities
- Stay aware in your own neighborhood for ways to help seniors or those who are shut in without family close by.
