FC music department performs the Spring Festival Concert
Spring is in the air, along with the sound of music! Fresno Christian’s Spring Festival Concert is a free family-friendly event featuring various groups in FC’s music department.
The concert will be hosted on campus in the GL Johnson Chapel, March 9. It begins at 7 PM, with doors opening at 6:30 PM.
The Spring Festival Concert will showcase the Eagle Band, FC Band and Percussion through a variety of music including marches, sea shanties, overtures and hymns. Color Guard will also be featured in a short performance at the end.
Band director Lindsay Clarno gives insight into the growth of the band this semester.
“This is the band’s very first foray into concert band music,” Clarno said. “They are going to be playing some excellent pieces that have been picked specifically for each of their levels. Since we got back from January, we started pretty much right away learning rhythms and things like that and reinforcing the foundation of the rhythmic sense of the band. Because we did the underpinnings first it is making it easier for everybody to read.”
