Coach Robert Foshee has impacted hundreds of Fresno Christian athletes in soccer, football, softball, basketball and tennis since 1999. One might ask if there is anything on campus Foshee has not coached? This school year marks his 25th year as a teacher and with all that time, he has spent countless hours coaching.
Thursday’s away tennis match against Chowchilla ended with his 500th career win at FCS, October 5. The team celebrated the milestone and took time to honor the moment on the court. During lunch Oct. 6, Foshee was honored amongst the student body and surprised with a custom pair of Air Jordans by fellow assistant coaches Mike Zamarripa and Daniel Jessing
When first seeking a job, there was none available at FCS until the Principal discovered Foshee had other experience that was needed.
“When I first tried to get hired there was no openings,” Foshee said. “As I was getting ready to walk away, Gary Shultz saw that I had coached soccer and asked if I would coach… the job was mine.”
Over his career, Foshee has attained four CIF Valley Championships under his belt and recently CIF, Coach of the Year for girls tennis 2022-23 season. Has he ever coached you? Leave a comment below to congratulate Coach Foshee.
